At Comcast Business, we want our customers to have access to lightning fast internet so we strive to provide our customers with the speeds they require to run their business. Over the past five years, Comcast has unilaterally increased internet speeds for existing customers. The following article explains what to expect when a speed increase is performed.
Increases take place overnight (between midnight and 6am). The process typically takes less than 15 minutes to complete, during which time you will be unable to use your Internet service.
Once complete, your modem should automatically reboot. Open your Internet browser to confirm that your service has been properly restored. Your modem will now deliver the increased speed.
To see if your modem is up to date, go to the Comcast supported website mydeviceinfo.comcast.net, select “Show End-Of-Life Devices” and search for your modem’s model number. Devices on the “Show End-Of-Life Devices” list are eligible for a free equipment upgrade.
